Australian Terrier Rescue Information: The Australian Terrier is one of the smallest terriers but has a bold, indefatigable temperament. Australian Terriers are entertaining pets with tremendous affection and loyalty towards their families. Despite their small size, Australian Terriers are very protective of their families. Australian Terriers are more easily trained than many other terriers. Although Australian Terriers love to bark, they are easy going and friendly with people and other animals. Australian Terriers travel well, are fairly inactive indoors, and do well living in an apartment. Australian Terriers like to be taken on a daily walk but should be kept on a leash since they like to chase things, especially squirrels.

The Australian Terrier has sharp eyesight and makes a great watchdog. Australian Terriers were the first Australian purebreds to be shown in the United States.
